Second shift is book 2 in the shifted series. Willow Brooks has an uncanny talent for predicting the future. Too bad she can’t see her own path. Her sister, Rory, is now married to a werewolf. She had seen that coming long before her sister or Mavreick did. What she didn’t see coming was the hulking werewolf she now lived with becoming her best friend, or his missing brother becoming her obsession.

I read this book because I liked the character Willow in the first book and I also found Ryder fascinating in the first book and wanted to know what/why he was hiding. Willow was a great character, she is funny, strong, knows what wants and doesn't, knows what she can and can't do but doesn't complain about it just gets on with it. Ryder was fabulous. He had a mystery about him, and he strong, and was definitely an alpha but was again sweet too. I have to admit that Ryder had the oomph that was missing for me in book one. This book is mainly about them, but you also get a lot on the rest of the pack also. The first half is generally about what is stopping Ryder from claiming Willow (with appropriate grovelling), and then the second half is a mystery involving Willow with lots of new stuff about pack thrown in.Willow and Ryder have wonderful chemistry and heat that you can feel. It is a great level of intense, while still being sweet. But again as I did with the previous book review I have to say that I think there will be quite a few readers out there who like shifter books but would find the smex scenes in this book a little too tame and not descriptive enough. But I think they will not be disappointed in the alpha Ryder.
I enjoyed this book more than the first because the storyline just had more to it, and I there was just something more about Willow and Ryder than there was about Rory and Maverick. However, several things were the same for both books, and that is the funny banter between characters, the chemistry, and the family love and loyalty. I also like that these books are not just all about the couple getting together, I like how this part of the story is settled by the half way point. I like that you actually get to see charactes being together. I also think that the family love and loyalty is obviously something that will run throughout this series, I am hoping the same can be said for seeing couples together.
The only down side to this book was the editing issues. There were more in this book than the first and it was distracting. I hope Ms Leite takes the time and gets rid of them before publishing book 3.

Second shift Shifted book 2 Volume 2 L Leite 9781482766110 Books Reviews
Wonderful story of Willow, a psychic and Ryder, a werewolf who left in the last book because he was afraid of what he felt and a secret he has been keeping. Ranger, Ryder's brother and Willow became close friends. Ryder comes back and makes amends. A new threat has the wolves protecting her. Well written story with a happy ending. The color of the sisters' wolves have a special meaning. Enjoyable series.
This is the second book in the series and I happily purchased book three before I was even finished. I quite simply love the story's. The author has some issues with the editing that is sorely lacking and in most instances that alone would cause me to review this book with nothing higher that three stars. However this story....these characters are just too darn appealing, you can't help but want to know more. This book was a perfect complement to the first book. I can't wait to start on book three! Enjoy!
Super great read. Once I started I couldn't put it down. Would recommend this series to all my friends and family. Looking forward to reading the next book. In fact I already have all of the books in the series. So can start the next book right away.
Two sisters, two brothers and both sisters are special in their own way. Not to mention the fact that they are both strong willed and Independent. Mated to strong willed alpha male's. Makes for a great read.
Great author too. Most she keep telling stories like these for a very long time.
As the series progresses another surprise happens...you can find out what we you continue with her wonderful series.I'm recommending that you enjoy them all even though they can be standalone!!!💟
Just as good as the first (Shifted) the characters are great, funny, caring, loving, and the Men , sexy. The story takes up where the first left off, but this one is about Willow. She has a client come in for her physic readings and things get interesting. Ryder has got to come to terms about the feelings he has been having about Willow, before things with him become worse. Ready for the next one ( Double Shift ).
The 1st book was ok enough to want to read the 2nd but was disappointing. It seemed more rushed than the first. There was little sexual tension thus the intimate scenes, a mere sentences or two at rimes, lacked release. The dialogue didn't work for me either. It was just dialogue and little or no glimpse into what the characters are thinking and feeling throughout the dialogue that it just falls flat for me. I can tell there is more to the story but the writing style just doesn't do it enough for me to want to continue with this series. And stop with the blank pages and spaces. Artificially making the story longer just cheapens it that much more.
Willow Brooks is a psychic who can see everyone's future but her own. Her sister is now married to Maverick son of the pack alpha Royal. Willow is being protected by Ranger another brother of Maverick because in protecting her sister Rory she killed another werewolf. But all that is about to change, Willow is not afraid to be alone and she doesn't feel that the family of the wolf she killed has any feeling of revenge against her. So Ranger needs to go home and maybe she can get Ryder out of her mind.
Willow misses Ryder Cheveyo, another son of the alpha, she can't get him out of her mind and since he disappeared after having to help her she knows that he doesn't like her and can't stand for her to be around his family. Things are rarely what they seem and Willow is no better than any other woman in trying to figure out how a man thinks.
This is a great sequel to Shifted, Rory's story. Its not a long read but I liked the story line and the characters.
